Vodka Pasta with Sausage Ingredients
- Three Cups of Marinara Sauce
- Optional (Italian Sausage)
- Penne Pasta
- Olive Oil
- 3 tablespoons of grass-fed butter
- One Cup of Good Quality Vodka
- Once Diced yellow onion
- Half Cup of Heavy Cream at Room Temperature
- 1/2 cup of fresh grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon for freshly ground black pepper.
- One Fourth teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder
- Fresh Parsley
- 1/2 cup of pasta water
Creamy Vodka Pasta with Sausage Directions
1.) In a large pot bring a pot of salted water to boil for your penne pasta. Put a lid on the pot to cover it to bring water to a boil faster. Cook penne pasta according to package directions. (Reserve a half cup of pasta water for the sauce)
2.) In a heavy skillet add olive oil, grass fed butter and sauté your onions until they are translucent. Add vodka and cook until it is bubbly. Dice Italian sausage and warm a cast iron skillet. Once the cast iron skillet is warm drizzle with olive oil and cook Italian sausage for ten to fifteen minutes each side. You may cook Italian Sausage with to onions if you like.
3.) Slowly add your marinara over low heat and season with salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder until thoroughly cooked about twenty minutes.
4.) Next, add your heavy cream and continue to simmer until heated thoroughly. Stir in Parmesan cheese.
5.) Now add pasta water a bit at a time. You will add the whole half cup if sauce is too thick. The pasta water is to create a smooth sauce.
6.) Finally, serve pasta with kitchen tongs or with two large forks onto a dinner plate. Add Creamy Vodka Sauce with Sausage and top with fresh chopped parsley.
