This Simple Essential Oil Hand Sanitizer Spray Recipe is a “piece a cake” to whipped together!

Using very minimal ingredient this Essential Oil hand sanitizer spray is perfect when you are in a pinch to sanitize your hands while out and about.

This Simple essential oil hand sanitizer is easy to make and very effective without using harsh chemicals that are found in conventional hand sanitizer.

All the ingredients in the is hand sanitizer is safe for adults, children and babies. 

With hand sanitizer recently being sold out due to the various virus this year.

Making an essential oil hand sanitizer spray is effective in killing bacteria and virus and did I mention easy to make.

Rubbing Alcohol or Witch Hazel can both be effective. 

Witch Hazel is gentler and is known as an astringent.

Witch Hazel contains some alcohol about 14% but check your bottle to be sure on the volume.

Isopropyl Alcohol will be more effective because it is about 91% alcohol with the bottle.  The other 9% will be water in the Witch Hazel Bottle.

As stated above check your bottle’s volume before purchasing and deciding what is best!

Aloe Vera has antibacterial, anti fungal and antiviral properties.  Aloe Vera can keep skin clean and free of infections.  Also, aloe is moisturizing and soothing to the skin. 

A carrier oil can be used and is complete optional to help with extra moisture.

Carrier Oils Suggested for this Simple Essential Oil Hand Sanitizer Spray

Essential Oils in it purest form can be strong and harsh.

When an essential oil is combined with a carrier oil it goes a long way and the skin can tolerate it is many benefits. The are many carrier oils that offer advantage as well and choosing a good one it essential.

These oils need to often be dilute with a good carrier oil such as the ones I will share below.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E oil can be expensive but it is soft, and very hydrating to the skin. I love using this oil to any skin care product because helps with fine lines and wrinkles.

Almond Oil

This Carrier oil is very popular and use often by many. 

Almond Oil has been around since ancient times and still used today. This oil is a soft yellow and rich in protein.  Almond oil can soothe, sooth, hydrate skin and great for all skin types.  This oil will not clog pores and promotes a healthy glow to the skin. I love to use Almond Oil in scrubs, lotions, etc.  because it helps with dry, itchy skin and inflammation. 

Fractionated Coconut Oil

Fractionated Coconut Oil is very different than the oil that you find in most kitchen in a solid form.

The Coconut Oil found in the kitchen is sold in liquid form.

Fractionated Coconut Oil is wonderful to use in homemade skin and beauty care products. This oil is great for for dry skin and does not stain.  Fractionated Coconut Oil is great for skin care cause it gains moisture to use as a carrier oil for essential oils.

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera Gel is not a carrier oil but, it important to mention.

This Gel is a product we will be using in the Hand Sanitizer Spray and has many benefits to the skin.

Regular use of Aloe Ver Gel gives the skin a soft, supple and healthy glow.

Using Aloe Vera helps with chapped skin and for this reason I like to use in skin care products especially a hand sanitizer.

When applying Aloe Vera Gel it make look think but, it absorbs rapidly and will not leave a residue in this hand sanitizer.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender Essential Oil calms and moisturizes the skin. This Essential Oil soothes the skin, reduces redness and smells amazing.

The wonderful essential oil is prefect to use if you are sensitive or get irritated to many skin care products.

Simple Essential Oil Hand Sanitizer Spray Recipe

This hand sanitizer will last for 1-2 years to be the most effective.  Store your sanitizer in a glass, metal bottle or a thick plastic bottle.  Finally, store out of sunlight and in a cool dry place. 

• 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel
•  2/3  cup rubbing alcohol or witch hazel
• 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil fractional coconut or almond oil (this is optional)
• 15 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil
• 15 drops of Orange and/or Lavender Essential Oil (either or oil is optional; you may use both but divide in half)

Add all ingredients into a small glass bowl and stir well with a spoon.  Using a small funnel, transfer into a glass spray bottle. Also, you may use a squeeze bottle if you prefer. Shake all you ingredients within the bottle well until well blended.

Note, when spaying onto hands you only need one spray per hand; rubbed to absorb on hands. If you make in a squeezable bottle only Squirt a dime size amount into your hands. Rub hands thoroughly to protect while shopping or in a pinch.
