- 3 cups of organic all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of organic sugar
- 3 sticks of grass fed butter
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of sourdough discard
- Parchment Paper
- Saran Wrap
Simple Sourdough Lavender Shortbread Cookies Directions
- Grind your lavender using a mortar and pestle to create a powder.
- In your stand-up mixer or by hand mix grass fed butter and sugar.
- Next, add your lavender and vanilla extract.
- Slowly add a half cup at a time all-purpose flour to you butter mixture.
- Add your half cup of sourdough discard and mix until everything is incorporated.
- Now lightly flour a surface and roll out your shortbread dough to half inch thickens with a rolling pin. Cut desire shapes and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
- Cover sourdough lavender shortbread cookies with saran wrap and place in a refrigerator for at least one hour.
- Preheat your over to 350 degrees, bake lavender shortbread cookies for twenty minutes until golden brown on the center rack of the oven. Halfway through baking turn your simple sourdough lavender cookies clockwise to ensure an even bake.
