To jazz up the best cranberry sauce is by picking the freshest cranberries along with the spices. Cranberries should bounce and if they do not bounce, they are rotten.

After many years of cooking and a drawers filled with tools, you really one need certain piece equipment that are good quality and to create amazing cranberry sauce.

Measuring Spoons in baking is one thing I have learned; it MEASURES everything such as baking soda. It is nice to have 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1 teaspoon and 1/2, 1 tablespoon as well.

Measuring Cups are a must and a variety of size such as 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 cup are essential.

A good Wooden Spoon is necessary for make this cranberry sauce recipe. Wooden Spoons are inexpensive, heat resistant and easy to clean. I love balancing the wooden spoon on top of my saucepan to prevent anything boiling over.

Box Grater is sturdy if held on counter or Micropane Grater is handheld both are perfect for zesting your orange or grating garlic, cheeses, veggies or fruit.

Stainless Steel Saucepan is awesome because it does not leach chemicals, easy to clean and prevents stains from cranberries.

How to Make the Best Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Thanksgiving is never complete unless you have the best Cranberry Sauce Recipe.  Cranberry Sauce is amazing and filled with anti-oxidants and helps urinary tract infections!

Best Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces of fresh organic cranberries
  • 3/4 cup of raw coconut sugar
  • 1 cup of freshly squeeze orange juice.
  • ½ cup of filtered water
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 4 tablespoons of orange zest
  • Season with Salt and pepper

First, in saucepan add fresh cranberries, water, coconut sugar and orange zest.   To zest your orange, use a zester or cheese grater.

Season the cranberries with salt and pepper and add fourth teaspoon of cinnamon and nutmeg.   Next, bring cranberries to a boil and then reduce to low heat and cook for twenty-five minutes until sauce thickens.    Notice the cranberries breaking down and a popping sound as you stir the sauce.

Remove saucepan from heat and add orange juice and give the cranberry sauce a good stir.  Let cranberries sit on counter until it is at room temperature, then serve.  You can serve cranberries warm or cold as well, the possibilities are endless.

Make your cranberry sauce recipe a few days ahead to let the flavor develop and enrich the taste.

Serve this cranberry sauce recipe with a season meal or a traditional holiday feast.

Store Cranberry Sauce in the refrigerator in an airtight container up to five days. If making in advance can store in freezer or preserved by canning.
