Why Essential Oils are Important to your Bedtime Routine
Our internal organs need rest and recovery. Tissue and muscle needs to grow and the only way for this to happen is using essential oils.
Using essential oils during your bedtime routine will provide a night of rest to release hormones, regulate your metabolism and reduce stress.
Using essential oils will help sleeping and boost memory.
Increase energy and help to make beneficial life choices such as exercise, and self-care.
Good Sleep and the help with essential oils will strengthen the immune system.

Importance of Essential Oils to Prevent Sleep Deprivation
A good nights rest equals to great health. There is no scientific evidence that sleep will improve health, however the negative effects of sleep deprivation are stated everywhere.
According to the CDC, one in three American Adult’s of are Sleep Deprived resulting in higher risk of infections, obesity and high blood pressure.
A hormone called Leptin helps to control the appetite and control metabolism. If Leptin is not produce one will have a higher appetite and increase in carvings.
Lack of sleep will make you more susceptible to stress and in turn the immune system will not function properly. Blood sugar and inflammatory without sleep will enhance triggering diabetes, heart disease, stroke and infection.
Injury will increase such as stubbing your toe, bumping into things or cutting yourself without a good bedtime routine because of exhaustion.
Your brain will not function optimally such as processing information, not focusing and mood will be negative.
Struggling with emotions will result without rest. Anxiety, sadness and anger is a result of lack of sleep.
How Much Sleep Do You Need
Sleep amount is base off your age and individual.
Younger Adults require more sleep anywhere from eighteen to ten hours.
After eighteen years of age deep, restful sleep is from seven to nine hours of sleep.
Tips to use Oils During your Bedtime Routine
Maintain a consistent bedtime and diffusing schedule before bedtime.
Reduce caffeine at least four hours before bedtime. Start Diffusing about an hour before bedtime.
Tour off the computer and television right at the time you start diffusing.
Throughout, the week maintain a regular exercise and eat a well-balance diet.
Lavender Essential Oil
Breathing lavender can make one feel drowsy but, did you know this oil will lower blood pressure and heart rate. Lavender Essential Oil diffused before bedtime can provide a relax state and set you up for a night filled with Zzzzz’s.
Roman Chamomile Essential Oil
Roman Chamomile is bright, sweet and calming and perfect to diffuse before bedtime. This anti-inflammatory oil is great for a deep sleep. You can diffuse but, if you do not own a diffuser you can simply apply topically to the back of the neck.
Valerian Essential Oil
Valerian Essential Oil is earthy and grounding that will promote a restful sleep. Diffuse this oil an hour before bedtime or massage to the bottoms of your feet for a slumber nights rest.
Sleepy Time Essential Oil Linen Spray to Use during your Bedtime Routine
I love the smell of lavender but, I love the calming effects it brings to me. Lavender’s smell can make you feel drowsy because it lowers your heart rate and blood pressure putting you in a relax state. Roman Chamomile enhances a deep sleep. Valerian Essential Oil creates a restful sleep every night. Creating this DIY Linen/Pillow Spray is perfect to spray on your bedding about 1 hour before bedtime to help you unwind and sleep well!
- 2 oz glass spray bottle
- filtered water
- Pinch of sea salt
- 25 drops of Lavender, Roman Chamomile or Valerian Essential Oil
1.) In a glass spray bottle add your pinch of sea salt. The sea salt will keep the water and essential oil separate.
2.) Add your desired essential oil and fill the rest of the bottle with filtered water.
3.) Give the Sleepy Time Linen/Pillow Spray a good shake and spray this Pillow and or Sheets one hour before “hitting the hay”.
