How to Make an Easy Homemade Granite Cleaner Video

Having a beautiful countertop is important for preparing foods, displaying items such as appliance that are use daily and handling the day to day that it needs to be clean and clear every day in order to work well.

The countertop surfaces are the main hub of the director of the home, clutter free is valued to be able to complete daily task and not feel overwhelmed.

Before I share my natural granite cleaner it is important to evaluate your counter space with what realistically needs to be displayed daily. Mixing spoon can be store in crocks and/or pitchers if you cook often. Appliances such as a coffee maker and toaster oven may be used and needed to be present every day on the countertops.

Once you decide what stays and what goes on the counter it is essential the surface is in “tip top shape”. My granite countertops needed some tender loving care and re caulking and giving it a deep clean will do wonders! I need to clean, reseal and re caulk the granite before anything went back on to the space.

First, I remove everything and decide what was important on the surface and everything else went into storage in the cabinet below.

Next, I cleaned out all the old caulk and replace it with some fresh caulk where the counters and black splash meet.

Finally, we are now can clean your countertops with an Easy Homemade Granite Cleaner.

How to Care for Granite Countertops Naturally

The care of your granite countertops is very essential to the longevity of your kitchens surface. With appropriate care your granite countertops can last for years to come.

Keep countertops clean and clutter free as much as possible.

Use a heating pad or heat resistant stone for hot pots and pans to prevent any staining or burn marks. Note, never place extremely hot items directly on to your granite countertops.

If anything spills and could cause staining, immediately clean the spill with a clean damp cloth.

Avoid abrasive scouring powders and cleaning products which could cause the surface to scratch.

What Cleaners are Safe for Granite Countertops?

Granite countertops can be expensive but is heat resistant and beautiful if taken care of well.

Don’t not use harsh detergents or citrus based products on granite because they can etch the stone.

Never use abrasive such as baking soda or Ajax on granite countertops.

Try not to use Vinegar, when possible, on granite countertops because it can cause etching.

The following ingredients I use on my granite countertop will eliminate germs, bacteria and is nontoxic:

Rubbing Alcohol not only cleans but is disinfects and creates a healthy surface. I remember when my son was very sick in the hospital the number one cleaning product was rubbing alcohol. The hospital used this rubbing alcohol spray on light switches, counters, remotes just about any surface.

Castile Soap is an all-purpose cleaner, grease-cutter, and disinfectant. Using castile soap for hand soap to body wash it is wonderful for cleaning as well.

Essential Oils unlike most cleaners in the stores can be expensive and contain lots of chemicals that will break the bank. The aromatherapy that essential oil takes cleaning to a higher level.

First, cleaning with essential oils is highly effective in sanitizing.

Secondly, using conventical cleaners are toxic to your home containing harsh ingredients and are not safe for the environment.

Everyday cleaners found on the shelves of you local store can pollute the air, contaminate the water and soil by running down the drain that will trigger migraines and allergies.

Next, using what you have already around the house such as baking soda creates atlternatives to cleaning your home naturally.

Thirdly, using a few ingredients along with some great essential oils you can disinfect and clean your home successfully.

Moreover, essential oils help to prevent viruses and bacteria around home.

In conclusion, we will make a few cleaners that are safe, affordable and have an uplifting aroma.

Why Use Homemade Granite Cleaner

Smells and harsh chemical can either irritant skin or lungs.

Cleaning with non-toxic ingredients is safe and affordable. Many cleaning products contain petrochemical components that can harm people and animals by triggering headaches, asthma, and/or allergies.

Cleaning sprays that are filled with factory chemicals can cause some serious long-term damage to lungs, liver and trigger migraines.

Finally, toxic ingredients granite cleaners can contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. Sprays can have a chemical called 2-butoxyerthanol that contributes to air pollinations.

Easy Homemade Granite Cleaner Recipe

Granite is a poplar countertop and is very durable. Many conventional cleaning products are expensive and are toxic. This less toxic alternative easy homemade granite cleaner will clean on the toughest jobs.

Ingredients

  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Water
  • Dr. Bronners Pure Castile Soap’ Unscented
  • Pine Essential Oil

First in a spray bottled labeled granite cleaner add seventy five percent water. Next add about twenty percent Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap and fill the rest of the bottle up with alcohol. The rubbing alcohol will kill any germs that are on the granite, Castile soap and the essential oil with create a lovely scent.

Now to add a fragrance, add about twenty-five drops of pine essential oil, you can use others but stay away from citrus.

The essential oils are not necessary but, create a lovely aroma. To enjoy cleaning anything, I love an amazing scent especially one that is fitting for the season.

Place spray nozzle on bottle and give a good shake to incorporate all the ingredients. Spray Homemade Granite Cleaner directly into the counters and wipe away with a cloth.

This Easy Homemade Granite Cleaner is not only frugal but non-toxic.
