This year I had a few hands to help decorate this Christmas Season, my daughter and I managed to do most of the decorating but, my husband did help with setting the tree in the tree stand and strung the lights around the tree. 1st when decorating we like to get all the bins out and unwrap everything. We decide what to use this year, what to save for next year and what to donate.

While decorating we like to listen to Christmas music and sip on hot chocolate. Also, it is tradition around here to start decorating right after Thanksgiving day.

Creating a collection of items, you already own in your home such as pitchers and plants are not only adorable but inexpensive and creates a Simple Farmhouse Christmas. Each piece on in your cupboards and shelves should have sprinkle of gold, silver, pine, and eucalyptus to create a beautiful space that is not only functional but, very inviting during the Holiday Season.

Decorating with lighting is a simple and affordable way to decorate for Christmas. Using lamps, candles and twinkle light create a cozy space that is romantic.
Place tea lights, pillar or votive candles and add inside a glass vase. Decorate glass vase in a clutter to make a statement on a mantel, piano or coffee table.
Candles and Twinkle Lights are a festive accent and a small detail that makes an impact. If using real candles keep flames well away from all items. All candlesticks should have a tray to catch any drippings and always trim your wicks to prevent and uneven burn or black burn. Never leave any real candles unattended.
On my farmhouse for Christmas, I used all fake candles that simply turn on and off with a remote. Lighting provides a cozy effect when days are shorter during the Christmas Season.

Many Thrifty Christmas Ornaments can be found on the shelves of local thrift shops such as the Salvation Army.. Often you will find me looking for items to complete many spaces within my home such as my shelves. Just remember to shop off season does help on finding the best Christmas decorations. In my experience I find my best Christmas find in January and July.
