Let’s learn five habits for a clean home using essential oils to eliminate harsh chemical, artificial fragrances to create a safe home.

Five Habits for a Clean Home using Essential Oils Video

I am not going to lie or pretend keeping a clean home easy but, however it can be done.  I created habits through the years that are “second nature” that I do every day to maintain a clean and tidy home.  Over the years I learn how to cut my time in half and get the cleaning done without freaking out.

Essential Oils to use to Create Five Habits for a Clean Home

Sometimes it is just better to start with the basic and use minimal ingredients to clean and disinfect a home using essential oils. The first habit for a clean home is using the leaders of essential oils. Essential oils are safe and very effective in cleaning your home. I use these essential oils listed below to clean floors, sinks, glass from my bathroom to kitchen.

Lemon Essential Oil

Lemon Essential Oil smells refreshing and awesome for cleansing the home. For Degreasing and Disinfecting Lemon Essential Oil, I grab often.

Orange Essential Oil

Orange Essential Oil rejuvenate the minds and disinfects at the same time. This citrus oil smells incredible and refreshing and will shine up any surface.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea Tree Essential Oil is a great oil because it is anti-everything! This Essential Oil is anti-septic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Eucalyptus Essential Oil smells fresh and is great to use in your home. This oil is perfect for cleaning and disinfecting. To help with respiratory infections this essential oil does the trick. If Fresh and Clearing, is what you are looking for eucalyptus essential oil does a good job.

Second Habit for a Clean Home using Essential Oils in the Bathroom

Using essential oils to clean and disinfect the bathrooms in your home is a great habit to incorporate in your weekly chore.

I clean my mirrors in my bathroom with essential oils with my DIY glass cleaner and of course the toilets with a brush and my essential oil toilet cleaner and my bathroom with my tile cleaner. While cleaning the bathroom my essential oils for cleaning will leave everything clean and sparkling.

  • 1 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol
  • ¼ cups of white distilled vinegar
  • 10 drops of lemon essential oil

First, add all the above ingredients to a mixing bowl, mix well with a spoon. Second, Pour all mixed ingredients through a funnel into your spray bottle.

  • toilet brush
  • 1/2 cup baking soda

In a bowl combine baking soda, tea tree essential oils and vinegar; mix well. If you are making to this toilet bowl cleaner in advance do not add vinegar. Next, pour cleaner into your toilet, let sit for five minutes.  Take brush and scrub, flush and repeat if necessary.

Third Habit for a Clean Home using Essential Oil in the Kitchen

First, I always go right to my kitchen morning, noon and night and do the dishes, wiped the counter and give my sink a scrub. I often feel like I never leave the kitchen but, I cannot stand a dirty one so “I go to town.”

Now is the time to hit the laundry room and do some laundry. I will do a load or two of laundry if needed this can range from sheets to athletic wear.

I use all natural laundry products and I love to dry my clothing with my dry balls and a few drops of Essential Oils. Right now, I am adding drops of Eucalyptus to my dry balls because it helps keep bacteria and viruses under control!

Essential Oils for Cleaning the Floors

Finally, we need to vacuum and cleaned my floors removing all debris and particles that fall on to my hard floors.  I have all hard floors on my floor and a good cleaning makes my home in “tip top shape!”  I love my Dyson V7; very light and easy to use.

This Dyson is perfect for homes that have animals because it does not miss a beat when it comes to animal hair.  I can vacuum all over because my Dyson is cordless, and I have 30 minutes of a charge! Also, I love using this Reveal Rubbermaid Mop

When I vacuum and mop, I try to focus on high traffic areas especially where my family and friends walk.  I love my Reveal mop from Rubbermaid for mopping the floors quickly.  I fill the spray bottle with my All-Natural Floor Cleaner and go to town.  One spray per section and my floors shines up nicely.  The pad is Velcro and I take off and throw in my washing machine per use.  I love that I am not throwing anything out filling the landfills and I am saving money.

This cleaning solution is for scrubbing and mopping the floors is easy, safe and nontoxic.

You use this homemade solution on wood, linoleum or tile.

I added lemon essential oil to my floor solution because smells amazing, antibacterial and kills bad odors.

Vinegar inhibits the growth of mold, mildew and most bacteria; perfect ingredients because my floors are exposed to kids and animals.
