As I get older baggy eyes, dark circles, puffiness an sallowness seems to be manifesting morning after morning.  I am finding myself paying careful attention to my sleep, skincare and night time rituals.

Why DIY Beauty Recipes for a Nighttime Routine?

Here is What I have been doing to make Sure I get Adequate Sleep, Beauty and Wellness during my old Age.  At night I need to make sure I have a perfect Night Routine!  For some reason if I skip my night time routine I definitely see the difference the next morning.

DIY Beauty Recipes for a Nighttime Routine using essential oils

First I remove my make up with my DIY make up remover and then precede to cleanse my face with a gentle cleaner and moisturizer.  I place a teaspoon of cleaner onto the palm of my hand and rub into my face gently.  I use the balls of my fingers to gently massage each area of my face avoiding my eyes and mouth.  Then I rinse well with warm water and a wash cloth until all the cleaner is gone.

Now I do shower almost every night not only does it relax me but, it cleanse me off all germs from the day.  I pat dry in the winter months and every season moisture my body with my favorite moisturizer.   A shower or bath helps calms me down and is a luxurious escape from my daily routine.  Side Note~ baths go back to the days of the Greeks and Romans as luxury with exotic perfumes, oils and potions.  I believe the best time to take a bath is before you retire but anytime is fine.

DIY Beauty Recipes for a Nighttime Routine Supplies

For my Bath or Shower I make sure I have a:

  • Washcloth or mitt
  • DIY Body Wash or Soap
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Thick towel to dry off
  • body lotion to moisturize
  • DIY Eye Serum and Facial Toner

I follow up with  a toner and moisturizing my skin with my favorite night time Eye Serum (Castor Oil).  When moitstruinzing your face do not forget your throat and massage in an upward motion.

Next, my oral hygiene is important at night I brush my teeth with baking soda to kill germs and keep white, floss and scrap my tongue.

Finally, try your very best to get 8 hours of sleep.  Your skin and body needs time to repair itself and 8 hours is a perfect amount of time.

Vanilla, Lavender Foaming Body Wash

Homemade Vanilla, Lavender Foaming Body Wash

I love beauty products but, many on the market are filled with toxic ingredients such as parabens, harmful fragrances and artificial dyes.   When I wash my body for the day’s germs and toxins I do not want to put any soap or body wash on my body that can be harmful to my skin.  This DIY body wash is very easy and can make a great gift that will pamper someone in a luxurious, no harmful way.  Using simple ingredients you can make affordable gifts for a loved one or yourself and fill good about .
