How to Clean your Crockpot
To keep your crockpot in “Tip Top” shape proper maintenance and care is essential. Let your slow cooker cool completely before washing. Soak the inside of your pot in warm, soapy water to loosen up food. Scrub your crockpot lightly with a sponge or dish cloth, rinse well and dry. Clean outside of pot with a soapy solution and dish cloth. Never submerge the outside of your slow cooker in water.

Easy Crockpot Butternut Squash Soup Recipe
Tis the season, for squash and here in Michigan we are harvesting a huge variety of squash including butternut squash. If you can get your hands on butternut squash this soup in the crockpot is perfect for fall and would be the talk of your Thanksgiving Dinner.
Ingredients:
- 1 medium butternut squash, peeled, seeded and cut into cubes
- 6 cups of vegetable broth
- 1 medium red onion; diced
- 2 Cloves of garlic; diced
- 2 Celery stalks diced
- 2 carrots diced
- A Granny Smith apple; seeded and diced
- 1 tablespoons of coconut oil
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne
- ½ teaspoons ground turmeric
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
- Sea Salt and ground pepper to taste
- 1 cup of whole milk
- ¼ cup of grated Parmesan cheese and 1 tablespoon for serving
Steps on Making Easy Crockpot Butternut Squash Soup
First, start your crock pot on your desire setting high or low. Peel, remove the flesh and seed from your butternut squash. Chop squash into chucks and set aside.
Second, chop and dice your onion, garlic, celery, carrots and apple. Heat of coconut oil and add onion, garlic, celery, carrot and apple.
Thirdly, Add your butternut squash and then add season with cayenne, ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, ground cardamom and season with sea salt and pepper. Now add vegetable broth and place lid on crock pot. Cook soup on low for eight to twelve hours or on high for four to six.
Fourth, after your soup has cooked; add your milk and take an immersion blender to puree soup until smooth. Return blended soup to crock pot and add Parmesan cheese.
Fifth, cook your easy crock pot butternut squash soup for an additional ten to twenty minutes
Finally, ladle soup into soup bowls and season with additional cheese and black pepper. Serve with fresh baked garlic bread and a crisp glass of chardonnay.
